General Settings (What does all this stuff do?)
Select the branch to track on Github for updates.
Select from one of two pre-defined themes, or create your own. To create a custom theme, make a copy of either Modern.css or Classic.css in the /css/theme/ directory. Use a one-word theme name (no spaces) for the new file name. Modify the colors in the new theme file as you like, and then select it in settings.
Color (General settings)
Select the primary default color used on login, splash screen, and for various other ui elements.
When enabled, you will receive a pop-up notification when new updates are available.
When enabled, Muximux will start with a splash page where you can select which application to view.
When enabled, a button will appear in the main Muximux bar that will allow overriding the placement of applications in the dropdown menu when viewed on a display detected as being on a mobile device. Intended for users who have tablets with a smaller display.
Set an individual color for each application. This will be used in the splash screen and for the tab's selected indicator. If disabled, the color selected in the general section of settings will be used.
When enabled, the navigation bar will collapse itself into a small strip, and expand on hover. This is disabled by default for mobile displays.
When enabled, you can set a username and password which will be required to log into Muximux. Password is hashed, salted, and stored in settings, so your password is never stored in plain text.
Applications Settings (What does the rest of this stuff do?)
Enter the address of the page you want to load. See below for instructions when serving Muximux over HTTPS. Url should be fully formatted: 'http://www.address.com'.
Change the default zoom level for the application. This value is used to scale the iframe contents in regards to the overall screen size.
Select from over 2100 different glyph icons to represent your application.
Not available if "Application colors" is disabled in General settings. This color will be used for the application icon in the splash screen, as well as for the "selected" indicator when the application is selected.
Uncheck to hide the application from the main menu without removing it.
Do not immediately load the page when selected, but instead start at a default landing page for faster loading.
Remove the application from the main menu and force it into the dropdown menu. Applications will be automatically moved to the dropdown menu to accomodate for screen width regardless of this setting.
Enable this button to make the application the deafult selected item when Muximux is loaded.
Bookmarking apps contained within Muximux
If you want to go directly to a specific app within Muximux you can use hashes (#) in the URL.
For instance, if you have an app called "My app" you could use: #My app
This is great for when you want to bookmark specific services contained within Muximux.
Please note that the hashname should be the exact same as the Name you have configured in the settings below.
If you need to, you can replace spaces with underscores (i.e #My_app).
Running Muximux from SSL-enabled / HTTPS server
Please note that if Muximux is served via HTTPS, any services that are NOT served via HTTPS might
be blocked by your web-browser.
Loading of unsecured content in the context of an SSL encrypted website where you see a green
lock would be misleading, therefore the browser blocks it.
One work-around is to serve Muximux via an unsecured website, or to make sure all the
services/urls you link to use https://
Alternatively, if you use Chrome or Opera (or any Chromium-based browser), you can install
the plugin "Ignore X-Frame headers", which
drops X-Frame-Options and Content-Security-Policy HTTP response headers, allowing ALL pages to
iframed (like we're doing in Muximux).
There has been an update. We removed config.ini.php and copied it into backup.ini.php
This is the last time we will have to do this kind of change.
This is due to the fact that we made major changes to the config.ini.php
and it is now called settings.ini.php. Do not copy your old config into
the new settings.ini.php. It needs to be written by the settings menu that
can be now be found in the dropdown in the top right. Thank you for your understanding.
